Have you ever wondered why you are how you are? Why you think the way you do? Why the patterns in your life keep repeating themselves? How you and your siblings can be so different?
It is probable that your genes have played--and continue to play--a role in these questions and more. You're probably saying, "Wait...what? I thought that my genes are what they are, and that's the hand I've been dealt."
Well, I'm here to tell you that you don't have to settle for that! You have the power to change the past, the present, and to redirect your life. Combining the Tarot with knowledge of epigenetics is an empowering way to do this.
Epigenetics, in part, is the study of HOW genes express themselves. It has been determined that genes can either turn themselves on or turn themselves off, depending on your environment. Thus, your immediate surroundings have a huge impact (literally) on the person you are at any one time (this is a very simplified explanation of epigenetics, and I would encourage you to do more research on your own). It has also been suggested (but not proven) that we may inherit some of our gene expression from our ancestors.
For our purposes in this series, we will focus on the impact our emotions have on our gene expression and how we are being "conditioned" to lead the life we're living. But know this. YOU have the power to change your life--and only you! We will even be doing some "time travel!"
By now, you may be asking how the Tarot fits into this conversation. The Tarot, in its original form, was meant to teach about the human condition and about repeating patterns. When you use the Tarot as a daily tool, it is much easier to move through your life with confidence and ease. Tarot can teach you how to consciously control your thinking/perception and emotions, therefore, controlling what genes get turned on and which get turned off.
Over the next 22 weeks, I will go over each card in the Major Arcana of the Tarot and give you tips on how you can use that card to:
· Overcome any obstacles you are facing right now.
· Help you figure out how you got "here" by exploring patterns.
· Change your gene expression.
· Start living life on your terms.
Until next time.
